Join us for an evening presentation and reception with visiting Afghan scholar, Mir Ahmad Shekib! Mir is spending the academic year at Tufts University’s Fletcher School and the Tisch College of Civic Life. Prior to coming to Tufts, Mir worked in senior positions at the Central Bank of Afghanistan (Da Afghanistan Bank). With more than a decade of experience in central banking, Mir led efforts to develop and implement the first national financial inclusion strategy for Afghanistan in close collaboration and coordination with the World Bank Group and many public, private, and non-government stakeholders. He will present on the current liquidity crisis facing Afghanistan's banking sector, providing context, insights and implications for global policy. Mir is a FLPFI fellow and has received his master’s degree in policy economics from Williams College and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Kabul University.
