About
Tufts University is hosting the 4th Annual Tufts Classic and the office of Government and Community Relations is looking for student volunteers to make the event a success! Volunteers will assist with set-up, clean-up and, most importantly, collecting and organizing donations for local food pantries at the front door!
The Tufts Classic is a special opportunity for the Medford and Somerville high school basketball teams to play each other on neutral ground and in a university gym setting. More details: https://www.facebook.com/events/790905418016470/
Since admission to the Tufts Classic is free, fans are asked to bring nonperishable items to support two local pantries: Community Cupboard located at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Medford (Medford) and Project SOUP (Somerville). The items need to be sorted and organized by volunteers as they are dropped off by fans.
There are two 2 hour volunteer shifts: one for the girls game and one of the boys game. Please contact us with any questions. After you sign-up, we will reach out to you via email with more information.
